Learning Objectives: COURSE OBJECTIVES for UNIV 101 Principles of Student Success. Upon the completion of this course students should be able to: 1. Demonstrate successful navigation of ENMU-Roswell campus resources by: a) Locating, identification and utilization of available campus resources essential for student success. b) Acquiring knowledge of rules, policies, procedures of online and/or campus learning. c) Articulation of curricular requirements and the relationship between general education and career specific courses. 2. Demonstrate a successful transition from high school, home and / or work to the role of college student by: a) Accepting greater personal responsibility, gaining control over the outcomes and experiences created by both in college and life b) Improving self-motivation by the process of self-reflection through the establishment and achievement of academic and personal goals. c) Improving interdependence by developing supportive relationships with people who will assist the student to achieve their goals as the student assists others with their goals. d) Improving personal self-management by developing and implementing strategies for taking control of time, energy and monetary resources. e) Improving self-awareness by analyzing and revising self-defeating patterns of behavior, thoughts and emotions as well as unconscious self-defeating behaviors. f) Improving emotional intelligence by developing and employing strategies for managing ones emotional life, decreasing stress while increasing inner self well-being and happiness. 3.
