Course description:An introduction to the basic elements of human resource management in sport environments. Provides an introduction to administrative practices involving employer and employee relationships and applies these concepts to the day-to-day practices and skills required of a manager in diverse sport settings. The content focus will be on areas such as human resource policies, recruiting, hiring, conducting performance evaluations, creating job position descriptions, training, career development, demonstrating interpersonal communications, managing change, maintaining positive morale, developing a system of rewards, managing stress, and supervision of staff members and volunteers.
