Course description:Focuses on photos as effective tools of communication for all media, with an emphasis on shooting on deadline, news, features, sports, photo essays, photo page design and layout, cutline writing and the ethics of photojournalism. Students will function as photojournalists, gaining hands-on experience shooting news, features, sports, and essays in newsroom conditions, as well as pitching visual story ideas. Students must own or have access to a digital camera with manual functions. (Lab fee required.) Prerequisite: COMM 205, 212. (S)
