Course description:This course is designed to be an in-depth study of specific theoretical interventions and to introduce the student to appropriate professional behavior in the clinical setting. The course will provide practice, experience and skills needed in the counseling environment, such as intake, assessment, diagnosis, case conceptualization, treatment planning and record keeping. Students will learn the process of working with a client from intake to discharge. Special consideration will be paid to multicultural, advocacy and ethical considerations. Pre-requisites: COUN 517.
