Course description: | This course is designed as a detailed study of the molecular and cellular physiological adaptations to exercise. The first half of the course is designed to understand the changes in the architecture for the cell, cellular life span, and transfer of genetic signaling for protein production in an applied stress. The second half of the course is focus on the cell specific changes to exercise, such as the cardiac myocyte, skeletal muscle cell and the blood cells. Prior knowledge of human physiology would be useful and a desire to understand the challenges that future clinicians be confronted with when working with patients. No prerequisites are required however a background in biology or health is highly recommended. (Odd Su). |
