| Course description: | Current concepts and special considerations in studying and managing speech sound production and articulation/phonological disorders of various types; Sensory development, phonological-phonemic awareness and developmental theories are addressed; Motor-based learning, and client/caregiver education, training, and counseling are reviewed. Evaluation and intervention across the lifespan, multiple disabilities, and in various treatment settings emphasized. Multicultural considerations and issues related to federal/state standards, eligibility, and legal matters will be included. Initial enrollment in CDIS 511 requires concurrent enrollment in CDIS 511 Lab. (F, S). |
