Course description:Designed to provide an overview of the major theories in counseling. The historical, philosophical, societal, cultural, economic and political dimensions of counseling theory are included, as well as current trends in counseling; roles, functions and professional identity of counselors; ethical and legal issues related to the practice of counseling. Prerequisite: COUN 501 (may be taken concurrently). (F) Synchronous participation required via Zoom or Teams
