| Course description: | Examination of current trends and professional issues in the field of speech-language pathology, including RTI/SAT/MTSS school law, and caregiver/parent rights. Technology developments, interprofessional and other models of practice, access to services, billing, and federal, state, and institutional regulations and policies related to service delivery are considered. Professional duty, accountability, fiduciary responsibility, and issues in supervision/support personnel are discussed. Specific content in client counseling/communication, multicultural issues/cultural competence, and advanced ethical issues in CDIS will also be addressed. Prerequisite: Concurrent enrollment or successful completion of CDIS 503 or 505. This course may only be taken in the final year of CDIS matriculation. This lab meets up to 110 minutes per week.
