Course description:Students will learn about interpreting as a profession, including ethical standards and professional responsibility, and practical career steps, such as the certification examination. Students will also learn various interpreting and translation techniques while expanding their vocabulary in both the legal and health professions. The course will review courtroom procedure and protocol as well as the structure of the U.S. court system. Prerequisite or Concurrent Enrollment: SPAN 2120 or 2220 or placement test. (F)
