| Course description: | Designed to provide an extensive supervised experience in a setting closely aligned with student’s chosen program. The primary goal is the integration of process, conceptualization, professional and interpersonal skills. This course requires approximately 20 contact hours of field site experience per week for a total of 300 contact hours per semester. Students in Clinical Mental Health Counseling must complete their Practicum and Internship under the supervision of a mental health counselor with two years of experience in clinical counseling. Social Workers, licensed marriage and family therapists, psychiatrists, psychologists, etc. do not meet the requirements for supervision. Students will complete the majority of their capstone project work during this course. Prerequisites: COUN 597. (F, S) |
